2019 - Sustainable Industrial Processing Summit and Exhibition (SIPS 2019), Paphos, Cyprus

On October 22-27 the Sustainable Industrial Processing Summit and Exhibition of 2019 (www.flogen.org) was held in Paphos (Cyprus). Director of the Institute, Professor Nikoloz Chikhradze participated in the Summit work as a member of the International Committee.

The Nobel laureates were attended the Summit and made presentations: Prof. Dan Shechtman (2011), Prof. Ferid Murad (1998), Prof. Rudy A. Marcus (1992), Klaus V. Klitzing (1985), Kurt Wüthrich (2002), Prof. Yuan T. Lee (1986).

On the official banner and screen of the Summit among official and honorary sponsors there was a logo of the G.Tsulukidze Mining Institute (see photo).

The director of the Institute had personal communication with all the six Nobel laureates, during which they were provided with information about the Institute's activities and main fields of  research.

Several in honor and topical symposia were held within the framework of the Summit. Among them was the 5th International Symposium on New and Advanced Materials and Technologies for Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development. The symposium was chaired by prof. Nikoloz Chikhradze, prof. Fernand Marquis and Prof. Tetiana Prikhna (https://www.flogen.org/sips2019//summit.php?id=43). At a plenary session of the symposium, Nikoloz Chikhradze made a presentation on "Fabrication of High Entropy Alloys Shock Wave Consolidation of Ti-Ni-Fe-W-Cu Powders" and moderated one of the thematic sessions.

In addition, Nikoloz Chikhradze presented "Advances in the Field of Synthesis, Compaction and Application of Ultrafine-grained and Nanostructured Materials in Devices and Tools" at the 2nd International Symposium on Advanced Manufacturing for Sustainable Development.

According to the decision of the International Committee, the 2020 Summit will be held in Thailand.
