Engineering-Geological Research and Design Scientific Center is a structural unit of the Institute, operating under the Institute's charter and the Center's regulations. The Center consists of one group and one laboratory: Structural Research and Design Group and Engineering-Geological Research Laboratory.

• Calculation and design of special purpose building structures.

• Engineering and geological research and topogeodetic planning of the territory;

• - Quality control of rocks, concrete, and building materials
  - Design of explosives and ammunition storage facilities
  

  Calculation and design of firing points.

  Design and calculation of fortifications and underground civil defense facilities.
