The Department of Explosives Expertise, Explosion Protective Structures and High-Technology Composites is a structural unit of the Institute and operates on the basis of the Institutes's charter and the Department's regulations. The department consists of 3 structural subdivisions as follows:

1. Explosives Synthesis and Expertise and Explosion Technologies Laboratory;
2. Polymer Composites and High-Tech Materials Laboratory; 
3. Explosive Complex Engineering and Experimental Support Group.
