On September 11-15, 2017, in Prague, Czech Republic "The World Multidisciplinary Earth Sciences Symposium - WMESS 2017" was held.

More than 500 scientists from 50 countries participated in the symposium. Topics of the symposium covered engineering geology, mining engineering, geophysics and seismology, blasting and new technologies, environmental sciences and other current problems related to Earth sciences.

Symposium Organizing Committee Member Prof. N. Chikhradze moderated Session: "BLASTING & NEW TECHNOLOGIES".

Five oral presentations were provided in the symposium by scientists from G.Tsulukidze Mining Institute:

  1. METHANE EXPLOSION MITIGATION IN COAL MINES BY WATER MIST - Speaker: Dr. Edgar Mataradze.

  2. SELECTION OF COMPOSITIONS IN Ti-Cr-C-Steel, Ti-B, Ti-B-Me SYSTEMS AND ESTABLISHING SYNTHESIS PARAMETERS FOR OBTAINING PRODUCT BY "SHSELECRTICAL ROLLING" - Speaker: Dr. Mikheil Chikhradze.

  3. ELABORATION OF THE CHARGE CONSTRUCTIONS OF EXPLOSIVES FOR THE STRUCTURE OF FACING STONE - Speaker: Davit Khomeriki.

  4. EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF THE EFFECT OF WATER MIST LOCATION ON BLAST OVERPRESSURE ATTENUATION IN A SHOCK TUBE - Speaker: Dr. Nika Bochorishvili.

  5. SYNTHESIS OF PHENYL ACETYLENIC PHENOLS TO DEVELOP NEW EXPLOSIVES - Speaker: Prof. Dr. Nikoloz Chikhradze.
